The reason I have made this page is because I get asked a lot for some good lesbian films. This will get added to as I watch more.

Imagine Me & You ★★★★☆

This is a really good film and one of my favourites. A very straight edge character is getting married to a great guy and then meets the florist at her wedding reception. In the church they have a little glance of each other and it is love at first sight. 

My Summer of Love ★★☆☆☆

I wasn’t a massive fan of this film but many people do like it. Two friends become a lot more over the summer. One of the girls goes to a private school so it is obvious from the start that it isn’t going to last. Their relationship is based a lot on lies and deception. 

Lost and Delirious ★★★★☆

 Two friends fall hopelessly in love with each other while they are at boarding school together. The parents of one of the girls have very high expectations of her so when the relationship is found out about she denies it and says that the other girl just fancies her and is left heart broken. This was a really good film and if you like Shakespeare you will like this.

But I’m a Cheerleader ★★★★☆

I really enjoyed this film, at first I was a little bit sceptical but I really got into it. A girls friends and family are really against her being a lesbian even though she isn’t even aware she is gay. She gets sent to a camp where they try to turn people straight. She falls for a girl while there. Worth watching!

Loving Annabelle ★★★★☆

Wow. I’m so glad I watched this film. When you look past the immoral issues of the teacher student relationship it is so sweet. I don’t know how I felt about the ending. I liked it and disliked it at the same time. Watch it!

Gray Matters ★★★★☆

This is such a great film. I was worried to how it was going to pan out but I think the makers of the film did a great job. It has a great story line of a brother and sister who are really close. The brother suddenly gets married to an amazing girl who his sister, Gray, falls for. I wish Gray had more a struggle accepting her sexuality though

Better Than Chocolate ★★★☆☆

I wasn’t a massive fan of this film. There was way too much going on at once and didn’t focus on the individual stories properly. It has some great sex scenes in it though. 

Bloomington ★★★★☆

I thought this was a lot like Loving Annabelle with the whole student teach relationship. I absolutely adore their relationship but I hated how they got together. The ending was a lot like Loving Annabelle too. Great film!

If These Walls Could Talk 2 ★★★★☆

So when I read about this I didn’t like the sound of it but I really enjoyed it. It is split into three stories at different times about lesbians. The first story was really hard to watch I thought, it was so sad. The second story is based a lot of stereotypes and the third story is about being lesbian parents. You should watch it!

I Can’t Think Straight ★★★★☆

A lot of people told me to watch this film and I’m glad I did! It’s such a cute film and tackles the whole religion and sexuality thing but not in a great amount of detail. It is also funny in some areas.

Tipping the Velvet ★★★☆☆

Technically not a film- it’s a three piece bbc drama. I’m not sure if I liked it or not. I was hoping for more of a drama about how homosexual people were treated back then (1890’s) but it was more about women dressing up as guys. I’m not sure how I felt about it. It’s funny and cute in parts. It’s what I expect from a bbc programme tbh.

The Truth About Jane ★★★★☆

I really liked how this film focused more on the difficulty Jane has with coming out and her parents accepting it than it does on the relationship. It’s quite dramatic but true at the same time. If you haven’t come out yet I recommend you watch this.

The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love ★★★★☆

I loved this film! I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed it. It’s not something I’d usually enjoy. 

Fingersmith ★★★★☆

This isn’t massively about lesbians, it’s more based on the scam within the film. But the two women do fall completely in love and have sex but are lying to each other. It’s such a good storyline.
